在讲解AEIS语法教材中我们一直强调，英语里谓语要根据所发生的时间，用不同的时态。即使说话人没有用时间状语，我们也应该从其话里的谓语动词知道事情发生的时间。而时间上，我们都清楚无非是过去，现在和将来。因此，英语的时态也可以分为表达过去，现在和将来时间的三大类。

　　今天课窝网来总结一下发生在过去时间常用的四种时态。

　　01一般过去时

　　一般过去时用来表达一个动作在过去的某个特定时间点完成。

　　1，肯定句中，谓语动词要用过去式。

　　有些动词的过去式是有规则的，在后面加“ed”；但有些是不规则的，也就是不是加“ed”，而是词形发生变化的，如go, have, give等的过去式分别为went, had, gave，需要我们慢慢熟悉。

　　Her family moved to New York twenty years ago.

　　她们家二十年前搬到了纽约。

　　He went to the kitchen and took a beer from the fridge.

　　他去厨房，从冰箱里拿了一瓶啤酒。

　　2，否定句和疑问句中，必须使用“助动词did+动词原形”。

　　They didn't want to sale their old car.

　　他们不想卖掉他们的旧车。

　　Were they at home when you dropped by?

　　你去的时候他们在家吗？

　　Where did you go on vacation last summer?

　　去年夏天你去哪里度假的？

　　02过去进行时

　　过去进行时用来描述过去某个时刻正在发生的事情。

　　过去进行时由“助动词was/were+现在分词doing”构成。

　　They were watching TV when I arrived.

　　我到的时候他们正在看电视。

　　I was doing the dishes when you telephoned.

　　你打电话的时候我正在洗碗。

　　They weren't listening to what he said.

　　他们没有在听他的话。

　　What were you doing at the time?

　　你那时在做什么？

　　03过去完成时

　　过去完成时用来形容在过去的另一个动作之前完成的动作。

　　过去完成时由“助动词had+过去分词done”构成。

　　I had visited the U.S. before my last trip.

　　在上次旅行之前，我去过美国。

　　I did not have any money because I had lost my wallet.

　　我没有钱，因为我丢了钱包。

　　They had sold the old house before they bought the new one.

　　他们在买新房子之前就把旧房子卖了。

　　She hadn't finished speaking when the manager rudely interrupted her.

　　她还没说完，经理就粗鲁地打断了她。

　　had Susan studied English before moving to New York?

　　苏珊搬到纽约之前学过英语吗？

　　04过去完成进行时

　　过去完成进行时用来表示一个活动一直持续到过去的另一个时间点。

　　过去完成进行时通常用来强调不耐烦或活动时间长短的重要性。

　　过去完成进行时由“两个助动词had been+过去分词”构成

　　He had been working at the company for more than thirty years when he retired last year.

　　到去年退休时他在公司工作了三十多年。

　　I had been waiting for two hours when she finally arrived.

　　我等了两个小时，她终于来了。

　　They hadn't been working long when he telephoned.

　　他打电话时他们工作不久。

　　What had you been talking about before Tony arrived?

　　托尼来之前你们在聊什么？
